Let Them Know What You Believe
As I study my genealogy, my family history I have discovered that most of my ancestors were church-going people and very involved in the life of their churches. But what I do not know, was their faith real or just religion and traditions. I do not remember anyone speaking of a personal faith, what it meant to them personally that Jesus died for them.
When I was young, I always wondered if I was good enough to go to heaven, and
it was not until I was in my twenties when I realized that I will never be good enough, but thanks be to God, that through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, I am saved through His Blood.
We as parents and granparents have the job to pass on that Legacy of Faith.
“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to you children and to their children after them.” Deuteronomy 4:9
